Back in September I went to a private view of the competition and, as you can see from the photo below, took full advantage of the hospitality! The exhibition now moves on to Trowbridge Town Hall where it can be seen from 11 November until 23 December, before continuing its tour at Guildford House Gallery from 13 January until 10 March.
I was delighted to once again be selected for the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition. My painting, ‘Sedbergh and the Howgills’ below, features in the exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London this week, closing on 24 September – I’m off there on Thursday for the evening private view. The exhibition then moves on to Trowbridge Arts from 11 November to 23 December and Guildford House Gallery from the 13 January to 10 March.
Once again Wirksworth will be full of art as the annual Art & Architecture trail takes place. I will once again be exhibiting at Church View, The Croft – admittedly a bit of a steep climb up Greenhill, but I hope those who make it feel it was worthwhile. With street performance and live music around the town as well, it makes for an interesting and fun day out.
My latest work has now been added to the website – five new paintings can be found at the top of watercolours page.
April Artist of the Month – Cromford Gallery.
I will be at the Gallery on Sunday 9 April between 1 – 5 pm for an opportunity to ‘meet the artist’. Location details can be found on the exhibitions page – all are welcome.
Details of 2017 shows where my work will be exhibited are now available on the exhibitions and events page. As the year progresses, please check for any updates or amendments.
This weekend sees my last exhibition of the year. I will be taking part in the Banks Mill Open Studios and Peak District Artisans Fair in Derby from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 November. Opening times Friday 17.00-20.00 Saturday and Sunday 10.00-17.00. See exhibitions listing for further information
I was delighted to be selected again for the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition. My painting, Cader Idris from Bird Rock, was on show at the Mall Galleries, London 19 – 24 September and subsequently sold when the exhibition was ‘on tour’.
I was delighted when ‘Winter quarters’, the largest watercolour I have painted, was awarded one of the five County Council Awards at this years Derbyshire Open Exhibition. The show continues at the Buxton Art Gallery until Friday 2 September.
As we move forward into spring I am looking forward to this year’s exhibitions and showing my work to visitors. Details of the events are now available on the website. Please contact me if you need any further information
